Porton Capital: Investing in UK Government Technology
Unlike most small "start-ups", Porton's research companies benefit from years of prior research and have the resources of the UK government to provide strong legal copyright protection. They seek private investment in these companies to fund further research and development, and they use a small group of trusted intermediaries, of which Sinclair James is one. We have been working with Porton since 2001.Porton Capital is the UK Government's approved partner company for
commercialising its military, space and nuclear technology. Porton has
set up a number of research and development companies to prepare these
technologies for adoption by the commercial sector, i.e. for sale to
large corporations. This offers opportunities for excellent returns,
perhaps a multiple of the original investment. However, these are
relatively high-risk investments which we only recommend for
consideration by experienced investors or those with relevant technical
awareness.
It is possible to invest in Porton Capital itself, or its individual subsidiaries, which are at different stages of development. In our view, those which offer the best investment opportunities are:

P2i - "Ion-Mask" and "Arid Ion" branded molecular water-repellent layer for footwear, garments, scientific glassware, windows, electronic components and other materials (see www.p2ilabs.com)
Enigma Diagnostics - rapid diagnostic testing of influenza, colonic cancer, MRSA, STDs etc., used by hospitals, airports, pharmaceutical companies (see www.enigmadiagnostics.com)
Cellcrypt -
encryption of any type of voice call (mobile, landline, VOIP, satellite)
- used for security, government officials, VIP's, mining, shipping, conferences (see www.cellcrypt.com)
ACAL Energy - plastic fuel-cell as powerful as a diesel engine but with much less expensive platinum -
used for emergency power, vehicles, remote locations (see www.acalenergy.co.uk)
The research and development field is challenging and and exciting, and the investment prospects can change as scientific and commercial breakthroughs or issues emerge.
